Vertical Tasting of Chateau de Pressac (2020 February)

Hao Shen | Updated: Apr 9, 2020 10:45:34 AM

The second time to do a vertical tasting with Jean-Francois Quenin. Surprisingly fresh Chateau de Pressac 2001 was faintly dense on the chocolaty nose with just a hint of tertiary aromas. Chateau de Pressac 2002 was dusty and fleshy. Chateau de Pressac 2015 and Chateau de Pressac 2016 (see the article ‘Vertical Tasting of Chateau de Pressac 2019 July’). Chateau de Pressac 2017 was somewhat deep and serious on nose while quite approachable on taste. The barrel sample of Chateau de Pressac 2018 blends 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Carmenere and 2% Malbec. A superb aroma of purity, fragrance and grace, gushing a vast amount of florality (spring flowers predominantly) wreathed with…(for all the details, please subscribe)…the dense finish that revealed a backdrop of luscious and sappy fruit. It's an age-worthy effort of slimness and classiness.
