Kanaan Winery Riesling 2019 exuded austere yet elegant and fresh aromas of flowers, stone, spices, apricot, yellow apple and aloe. The aroma of Kanaan Winery Crazy Fang 2013 was suffused with flowers (wild rose, gardenia), scrub and stone intermixed with spices, black chocolate, nectarine and black plum. The minerality reappeared on the palate of intensity and structure, with subtle roundness enhanced by suave tannin and chocolaty texture. This austere effort would age very well.

Helan Qingxue Vineyard

Somewhat lacking the intensity, Helan Qingxue Vineyard Jia Bei Lan Baby Feet Pinot Noir 2018 was delicate and light. Helan Qingxue Vineyard Jia Bei Lan 2017 possessed loads of elegant fruits and firm tannins. Helan Qingxue Vineyard Jia Bei Lan 2018 was elegantly floral on the incredibly precise sniff that showed a lovely background of sweet spices, stone and toast. The minerality repeated on the mouthfeel that had linear acid that enhanced the juiciness. Helan Qingxue Vineyard Jia Bei Lan Reserve 2017 showed lush but cool sniffs of menthol, exotic spices, leather, vanilla, black chocolate, stone and black fruits.

Les Aromes Blanc 2017 was bright, clean and fresh. Domaine des Aromes Blanc 2017 was plain and lemony. Domaine des Aromes Blanc 2018 was floral, fresh and limpid on the nose while tension-filled and textured on the palate. Domaine des Aromes 2016 smelled of wild flowers, blueberry, strawberry, mint, nutmeg, savoury-mineral and white chocolate. Freshly acidic and firmly structured on the taste that was packed with fleshy fruit that concluded in a powdery yet vivid end.

Firm, tense and textured Xige Estate Jade Dove Rose 2017 was a sophisticated rose wine. Lavender, dried herb, spices, earth and crushed stone made up the serious yet alluring nose of Xige Estate Jade Dove Single Vineyard Cabernet Gernischt 2017. Xige Estate Jade Dove Single Vineyard Cabernet Gernischt 2018 was minty and sweetly spicy on the fragrantly exotic nose with a floral background. The palate was full of delicately suave tannin and succulently explosive fruit.

Chateau Vegani

Profound and textured Chateau Vegani Lanshan Bojue Family Reserve Marselan 2018 was chocolaty on both nose and palate. Firm but suave tannins suffused the palate of Chateau Vegani Lanshan Bojue Grand Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 that had subtle salinity that terminated in a mineral-inflected finish.

Chateau Rongyuanmei Zhuang Yuan Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 was floral and spicy on the elegant sniff. Chateau Rongyuanmei Hong Fang Yin Malbec 2017 was textured yet detailed and acidic. Chateau Rongyuanmei Hong Fang Yin Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah 2017 had a delicately floral (violet, nectar) aroma intertwined with sweet spices (cinnamon, red liquorice), crushed stone and blackberry. Chateau Rongyuanmei Hong Fang Yin Grand Reserve Syrah 2017 possessed lovely texture.

Tangut Princess Shuang Jiao Syrah/Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 smelled of blackberry, prune, peppery spices, dried flower and a hint of savoury-mineral that repeated on the taste that had delicate tannins and beautiful acidity. Tangut Princess Petit Manseng Dessert Wine 2018 was a rich but balanced stuff.
