The second time to do the vertical tasting of Yeoman Shiraz with Richard Dolan at the winery.

The Yeoman Shiraz 2015 (see the article 'Vertical Tasting of Pertaringa Yeoman 2019 November'). The precise and exotic smell of Yeoman Shiraz 2017 was dominated by dried flower and stone intermixed with spices, earth, tar, cocoa, lime, blackberry and fresh prune. Clean on the mouthfeel too, which was light on its feet. Yeoman Shiraz 2019 was intensely fruited (ripe blackberry, cassis) and sweetly spicy. Yeoman Shiraz 2021 was lush and polished, with loads of dried fruits and black chocolate notes. Yeoman Shiraz 2024 has been decanted for more than half an hour. Limpid and graceful on the bouquet that was suffused with…(for all the details, please subscribe)…as well as enchanting juiciness underneath. This might not be the most long-lived Yeoman ever, but it would provide an enormous amount of enjoyment over the next 10–15 years.

Over The Top Shiraz 2024 showed faint reduction that faded after swirling the glass, with an austere and refined sniff of sweet flowers, leather, sweet spices, crushed stone and white chocolate. Polished tannin added the smoothness while fresh acid enhanced the vibrancy.
